And we are off! We started our adventures saying goodbye to my folks and heading to Orlando for our direct flight to London. We chose to fly Norse Airlines, which markets itself as a budget airline. Their motto is “Crossing the Atlantic is 1,000x better now than it was 1,000 years ago” and I believe the message is “don’t bitch about the shitty food or seating, your getting across the freaking ocean in 8 hrs, so shut up!” We actually really enjoyed the airline for the price we paid!

Once we landed and checked into our hotelo (as Owen calls them), we hit the good ol’ town of London hard. The weather was beautiful and we started the lessons immediately. First big wow lesson for Jeffrey and I…….quite embarrassing.
This is NOT LONDON BRIDGE!

~
This is something I should have known but alas did not. Now I know though….this is what I envision when when singing London Bridges falling down. However, London bridge is pretty normal and not overly exciting and has fallen down quite a bit. The Tower Bridge was built in 1894, so it’s really not even that old.
After learning basic bridge information, we went on a 30 min cruise to the Eye of London (EOL). The EOL generates 500K Pounds A DAY! Maybe we should open an Eye of Oklahoma!

After running around all day, we ended our night with dinner at La Gamba. It was a wonderful Spanish tapas restaurant. The boys were EXHAUSTED!!!

Then we took a cab back to the St. Athens hotel and settled in for some of the best sleep I have gotten in months. The hotel is simple but great. Comfortable beds, tv in room and quite area.

Below are some additional fun pics from the day…..
