We are about to embark on our first family road trip and it is a long one….
Many folks have inquired what could have possibly provoked you to take a 30+ day road trip around the western United States with a four year old (Andre) and one year old (Owen)…
Sooo here is the reason for the potentially hellish but surely unforgettable trip. We were driving around the ever green city of Oklahoma City and Andre saw a tree that looked frankly like a shrub and said “Wow, that’s a big tree!”
I knew at that moment that in the near future, I was going to take that boy to see a REAL tree. A tree that you could barely see the top of, a tree that has lived for over 100 years, a tree that a four year old can’t put his arms around. So I designed a road trip that included several National Parks, Redwoods and new cities.
Highlights include: Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Vegas (??), Yosemite, San Fran, Portland, Yellowstone and Rushmore.
I have decided to create this blog to allow friends, family and whoever to see what it’s like to travel with kiddos and hopefully will have some fun experiences to share and tips. So hopefully you will follow us on our family adventure!!
